What is Self Harm?

Self-injury, more commonly known as Self-Harm, is any act done where the intention is to harm oneself without the intention to die

Some examples of Self-Harm

  • Striking one’s body with a hard object

  • Biting (often so hard the skin is pierced)

  • Obsessive Pinching

  • Intentional burning

  • Cutting or stabbing

  • Misuse of medications, alcohol, or drugs

  • Risky behavior, such as unsafe sex or reckless driving
