Board of Directors

  • Dr. Mayo is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and visual artist. She received her BA in Cognitive Sciences and minor in Studio Art from the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Mayo pursued her PhD in Clinical Psychology with a Clinical Child concentration from Loma Linda University.

As a visual artist and a clinical psychologist, Dr. Mayo’s individual therapy approach with youth and young adults is unique and includes the bridging of her two passions: psychology and art. Thus, it is not uncommon for her to include painting, drawing, and other mediums with clients who are willing to use art as a tool to communicate, explore, and understand their difficulties. This model of using art to teach psychology tools to youth has been largely successful and ultimately inspired her to create My Good Brain. Her goal is to provide children with the ability to have healthy coping skills and effective self-help strategies to promote mental wellness from an early age.

  • Andy has a PhD in Electrical Engineering, and works on camera systems professionally. His hobbies include woodworking, tinkering, and making cool projects that bridge the gap between technology and art.

Art is a way for Andy to de-stress, and has always been a refreshing change of pace for him. He believes that art is an amazing and fun way to improve mental health, an often overlooked aspect of wellbeing in today’s world.

  • Peri serves on the Board of Directors for My Good Brain and is also the Lead Community Outreach/Events Coordinator. Her career is in Real Estate and Digital Marketing, but she has always grown up in and around the arts. After receiving a BFA degree in Dance and Choreography from UC Irvine, she moved back to the Bay to pursue Choreography presenting work in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York.

Peri uses all forms of creative art in order to keep a balanced mind and heart fulfilled. No matter the career she pursues, art is what always inspires her, fuels her soul and opens her mind to constantly see the world with innovative eyes. When she is not working or volunteering, Peri loves to travel and meet other creatives in the field!

  • Destini is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist currently working in San Francisco. Destini received her Bachelors of Art in Psychology and a minor in Communication from California State University, Long. Destini later received her Masters of Science in Counseling specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Sacramento.

Destini has experience providing individual, group, and family therapy at different community based agencies working with those who have low risk needs, high risk needs, and re-entry. Through these experiences it has help her to appreciate and utilize different methods like art to help others that she works with daily.
