Growing The Love (Through Self-Care)

Self-care is a way to help you grow as an individual. You are taking the time to nurture and heal the person you are, so you fight another day. To define self-care is to put it into boxes with clear-cut labels, however, that simply isn’t possible. 

Self-care is anything you do to care for yourself, so that “you can be healthy, you can be well, you can do your job, and you can help and care for others. Also, allow you to do all the things you need to and want to accomplish in a day.” Self-care looks different for everyone, so do not define your care against the self-care habits of others!

Personally, I turn to art, specifically writing. I write about my day, the things that I like, and the things that make me happy. Art is all about releasing emotions, good or bad. Using it as a form of self-care allows me to put my feelings into words and understanding them but, not letting them control me. I hope that whatever you choose to use as self-care allows you to nurture yourself!
