May is Mental Health Action Month
My Good Brain is a proud community partner of MTV Entertainment Group’s Mental Health Action Day.
On May 23 and all month long, we invite you to take ONE hour for your mental wellbeing
Art Heals. Come Create With Us.
My Good Brain is bringing Mental Health Action Day to life outdoors on the North Promenade at Arts District Liberty Station — transforming our community space into a joyful, stigma-free zone for creativity and care.
Each art station is designed to teach a real social-emotional learning (SEL) skill — from deep breathing and mindfulness to empathy and gratitude — through hands-on making. Come for the art, leave with tools for life.
This event is supported by the Arts District Liberty Station Micro-Grant and made possible by MGB volunteers who believe mental health literacy starts early.
A Day of Art, Heart & Community
Mental Health Action Day is about moving from awareness to action. At MGB, that means making wellness hands-on, joyful, and for everyone.
Hands-On Art Making
Four stations packed with supplies — paint sticks, crayons, watercolors, collage, glitter. No artistic skill required. Just show up and create.
Resource Hub
Visit Canopy 2 for free mental health handouts, MGB program info, and take-home guides your family can use every day.
Real Wellness Skills
Every activity teaches a tangible mental health skill — deep breathing, emotion identification, visualization, mindfulness, or gratitude.
Stigma-Free Zone
A warm, welcoming outdoor space where talking about feelings is celebrated. MGB volunteers are here to support, not judge.
Made for Families
From 2-year-olds to grandparents. Drop-in anytime, stay as long as you like, skip stations, revisit favorites — it's your pace, your way.
Take-Home Goodies
Leave with your artwork, a Mindfulness Jar, a Breathing Reminder Card, and printed resources to keep practicing at home.
