Stress Awareness

Stress is defined as a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances. Stress is a normal reaction of our body to cope with such difficult situations. In fact, short term stress helps to complete tasks on hand in healthy manner. However, chronic stress leads to both mental and physical health problems.

 

Stress is affecting our lives today more than ever. Hence to raise awareness about stress management and to campaign against the stigma associated with stress and mental health issues, first week of November is observed as International Stress Awareness Week.

 

The good thing is stress if recognized at appropriate time can be managed with so many tools available to us and best part is they are already available to us, we just need to focus and take action for our self- care.
